While today’s game has gone considerably better than the past two for the Oregon Ducks, penalties remain an issue for Mario Cristobal’s squad.
Penalties also remain an issue for Pac-12 officiating crews, and there were more than a few questionable calls late in the first half on Saturday against UCLA.
Cristobal expressed his anger, as one would expect, but this time the viral video of an Oregon coach on the sideline wasn’t the head coach.
Associate head coach Alex Mirabal, who has been coaching the offensive line since Mario Cristobal joined the staff in 2018, was seen screaming at officials as they jogged off the field at halftime.
Mirabal’s extreme anger, mixed with his small 5’5 frame, made for a pretty amusing sight as security staff held him back from making contact with the officials.
Oregon had a frustrating first half which caused some of the tension seen by the staff, but a strong third quarter has the team leading with less than 10 minutes to go.
