Ohio State defensive end Jonathon Cooper is the kind of guy that’s easy to cheer for. He’s a natural-born leader and gives every ounce of effort he has to give. Throw in the fact that Coop grew up in the suburbs of Columbus in Gahanna, Ohio, and it’s icing on the cake.
It took a little longer than hoped for, but Cooper heard his name called in the seventh round of the NFL draft, being selected by the Denver Broncos. Anyone who’s ever played sports has dreamed of a moment like that, so we all can imagine the excitement the Ohio State defensive end had to be feeling.
It’s always nice when others celebrate your success with you and Cooper was fortunate enough to experience that as well. Shortly after learning he’d be heading to Denver to start his professional career, all the neighborhood kids came down to congratulate their local hero.

There’s an old saying that says you can’t fool kids by being a phony because they’ll see right through it. Judging by the reaction in the video above, Cooper is as legit as they come. And we think he’ll open some eyes once he gets to the Mile High city.
