Texas landed a massive recruiting flip from arch-rival Oklahoma this week. Four-star EDGE rusher Colton Vasek decided to follow the golden hat to Texas and commit to the Longhorns.
Keeping the Austin Westlake product home was a top priority for Steve Sarkisian and Texas’ staff.
Texas fans relished in the news of Vasek’s addition to the class for good reason.
Vasek is listed as the No. 17 edge in the country and the No. 26 overall prospect in the lone star state for the 2023 recruiting class, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. His flip pushes Texas’ class up to No. 6 in the nation for the 2023 cycle.
At 6-foot-6, 225 pounds, Vasek has an ideal frame to turn into a great pass rusher at the college level. He is one of the most fundamentally sound prospects in the class. Vasek puts his deep skillset on display in his senior highlight film.
