Former Georgia Bulldogs linebacker Nakobe Dean forced a fumble to give the Philadelphia Eagles a red zone stop against the Cleveland Browns on Thursday night. The Browns were off to an excellent opening drive and were primed to score a touchdown, but Dean had other plans.
Dean appears to be done for the night for the Eagles. He has three total tackles and one forced fumble. Philadelphia drafted Dean in the third round of the 2022 NFL draft. The Eagles are hoping Dean will have a larger role in 2023.
Two of Philadelphia’s starting linebackers from 2022, T.J. Edwards and Kyzir White, signed with other NFL teams. Dean has an opportunity to start with the Eagles, but he most win a linebacker competition with Myles Jack, Zach Cunningham and others.
