“An ugly win is better than a pretty loss.”
That’s what Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo had to say about his Spartans’ in a big-time road win over Ohio State. The Spartans blew a double-digit lead in the second half but was able to respond with a strong finish to earn the 69-62 victory over the Buckeyes.
Michigan State was led in scoring by Szymon Zapala (15 points) and Jaden Akins (14 points) in the win. Coen Carr also again reached double-digits in points with 11 off the bench.
Michigan State improved to 12-2 overall and 3-0 in Big Ten play following the win. The Spartans have won seven straight games dating back to the Maui Invitational in November.
