There were a handful of Aggies on the field as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Detroit Lions battled it out in the NFC divisional round on Sunday afternoon.
Texas A&M future Hall of Fame wide receiver Mike Evans crossed another milestone en route to his gold jacket. A 22-yard catch from Baker Mayfield gave the Bucs some room to work with and placed Evans in the top spot for yards from scrimmage in the team’s playoff history.
With that catch, he passed Leonard Fournette, previously sitting in the number one spot with 572 yards. Evans did everything he could to extend the Bucs’ playoff run this year, but the Dan Campbell-led Lions cut that short with their 31-23 win. This might mark the end of the Mike Evans era in Tampa Bay, considering extension talks stalled out a long time ago, and there will be a lot of teams vying for his services.
If this ends up being his last game with the franchise, he left with a bang in his final playoff game. He had eight catches for 147 yards and a touchdown, giving him 709 scrimmage yards in the postseason.
🚨 Franchise record alert@MikeEvans13_ now has the most career playoff yards from scrimmage in @Buccaneers history 👏
