Before he makes his long-awaited return to the court with the Golden State Warriors, Klay Thompson will go through some practices in the G League.
On Sunday, the Warriors assigned both Thompson and James Wiseman to the Santa Cruz Warriors in the G League for increased practice reps while they each go through the latter stages of different injury rehabs.
Thompson has notably missed the past two seasons due to an ACL and Achilles injury. On Monday, the guard was back on the court with Golden State’s G League affiliate.
The 31-year-old guard went through different workouts and a scrimmage on Sunday in Santa Cruz.

Despite practicing in the G League, Thompson isn’t expected to play in any of Santa Cruz’s upcoming games.

Thompson’s appearance at Santa Cruz practices is another positive sign in the potential final steps of his lengthy rehab. The five-time All-Star could reportedly return around the Christmas holiday. With the Dec. portion of the schedule just around the corner, Thompson’s highly-anticipated return to Golden State’s rotation could be nearing.
