Pacing for almost 40 points heading into halftime, the Kansas City Chiefs are putting on a show against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 14, showing signs of life on both sides of the ball in an absolute smackdown. Perhaps the most exciting part of this matchup so far has been the involvement of Josh Gordon, who scored his first touchdown as a member of the team on a pretty tunnel screen on the goal line to put the Chiefs up 28-0 in the second quarter.

Check out the play here, and notice how Gordon walks into the end zone virtually untouched for the score as a result of excellent play design:

Gordon’s addition was one of the most hyped in-season transactions the Chiefs made this year, but he hadn’t produced as some fans expected heading into this game. Stuck behind a crew of talented receivers on Kansas City’s depth chart, it took some time for him to get involved in a meaningful way, but Gordon officially broke the seal against Las Vegas and looks to be a factor in the team’s gameplan moving forward.

This touchdown reception was Gordon’s first since 2019, and the mercurial receiver should have an opportunity to build on the momentum gained in this game ahead of the playoffs. A former All-Pro selection, Gordon has the potential to be an X-factor on an already loaded offense that can put up points at will when they’re in rhythm.

Kansas City is coasting in this one and would be wise to rest their starters in the second half, assuming the Raiders don’t cut into their lead. A move to take Tyreek Hill out of the game could give players like Gordon more chances to make plays with the second-stringers, which could provide some intrigue in a game that looks to be over already.
