Watch: John Johnson mic’d up at Rams’ scrimmage

John Johnson wore a mic in the Rams’ first scrimmage and it was highly entertaining.

John Johnson is back after missing most of the 2019 season with a shoulder injury and the Rams must be thrilled to once again have their leader on the field. The fourth-year safety had a terrific 2018 season and was off to a great start last year, so he’s hoping to build on that progress in 2020.

As one of the most vocal players on defense, Johnson loves to speak up, help align his teammates and pump up the rest of the team. He did a lot of that in the Rams’ first scrimmage and was mic’d up for it all.

The Rams shared that video Saturday before their second scrimmage and it’s highly entertaining.

You’ll notice quite a few interesting players running with Johnson and the first-team defense in the video above. It’s not surprising that the Rams are rotating guys in camp, but it’s great to see rookies Terrell Lewis and Terrell Burgess working with the starters.

Among the other expected backups playing with the starters in the first scrimmage were Ogbonnia Okoronkwo, Darious Williams and Morgan Fox. Travin Howard and Micah Kiser were the first-team linebackers, which is how it’s expected to go in Week 1.
