WATCH: Jahan Dotson takes the direct snap for a game-tying touchdown against Ohio State

It may have taken a while to get Jahan Dotson involved in the offense for Penn State in a primetime showdown at Ohio State, but perhaps it was worth the wait. On a masterful drive to open the second half, Penn State offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich called a brilliant drive that resulted in a game-tying touchdown. And it was Dotson who capped it all off with a run, not a catch.

Taking a direct snap from the Ohio State two-yard line, Dotson took off to the left side of the line and got a block from tight end Tyler Warren, who has been used at times in similar formations and situations this season. Warren’s block helped Dotson get to the outside edge and Dotson just barely got the ball across the goal line for what turned out to be the game-tying score.

Kirk Herbstreit broke the play down and the camera in the end zone got a great look at Dotson’s final effort to get the ball across the goal line.

Unfortunately for Penn State, Ohio State fired right back in little time on the ensuing possession. A 58-yard pass from C.J. Stroud to Jaxon Smith-Njigba on the first play of the next possession by the Buckeyes put Ohio State right inside the red zone, but the Nittany Lions defense held Ohio State to a short field goal.
