WATCH: Is this who the Boston Celtics are? A mediocre team on the treadmill of mediocrity?

‘Mediocre’ is an apt word for what we have seen so far — can they be better, or is this their identity?

The Boston Celtics took their last two games before they went on the road to face the Atlanta Hawks to heart, smashing both the Washington Wizards and Sacramento Kings to pieces at TD Garden in convincing fashion in what was up that point their most complete games of the season.

In what should have been an ideal opportunity to show the lessons they had learned about how to play the game consistently regardless of the opponent in front of them or the arena dome over their heads, the Celtics instead fell on their faces and fell back into old habits to hand the game on a platter to the Hawks.

What is going on with this team? Is it cursed to hover at .500 on the dreaded treadmill of mediocrity forever? Is there something internal that can be done to improve things? Or do there need to be minor, medium or even major moves made to right the ship that is this Celtics roster?

The hosts of the CLNS Media podcast “The Garden Report” debate where the team is at and what it needs to do to get better in their most recent episode. Watch the clip embedded above to hear what they believe the team ought to do next.
