Inside linebacker Tyrell Adams has been a welcomed fill-in for Pro Bowler Benardrick McKinney, who is on injured reserve with a shoulder injury.
The 28-year-old made an impact play in the first quarter on Thanksgiving Day against the Detroit Lions in Week 12. With 4:32 to go in the opening period, Adams forced running back Jonathan Williams to fumble. Cornerback Bradley Roby recovered at the Lions’ 30-yard line.
Houston made good on the free possession with quarterback Deshaun Watson throwing a 2-yard touchdown pass to running back C.J. Prosise to give Houston a 13-7 lead late in the first quarter.
