WATCH: How will Brad Stevens use Aaron Nesmith on the Celtics?

Nesmith will likely see meaningful floor time to start the season — but how will he be used?

The Boston Celtics are going to need a little something more than bench warmth out of rookie small forward Aaron Nesmith this season if they want to make a serious run at a title after the departure of veteran wing Gordon Hayward.

Add in the dynamic that the pandemic has introduced to the 2020-21 season in terms of scheduling, and the poor guy won’t even have a Summer League to get used to something approximating the speed and difficulty level of NBA play.

Given these daunting propositions, how will the franchise try to put the Vanderbilt product to work for the Celtics in his inaugural season?

Our friends over at the Playgrounder put together this film study that tries to answer that very question, using a familiar face to give you examples of how Boston may try to use Nesmith in NBA games this coming season.

So if you want an idea of how Green Bean will be deployed in the team’s offense — or if you just need a short break from holiday festivities — watch the video embedded above.
