The “Crimson Crane” took over Alabama nation like no other celebration that I can remember. Fans of the Tide even took to Twitter to add the Gi emoji beside their name as sign of their “gumpness”.
So how did the celebration even come about? Well, I am glad you asked. Star Alabama receivers Jameson Williams and John Metchie were trying to find their signature celebration during practice and they both agreed on the “crane kick” from the famous movie from 1984, “The Karate Kid”.
Below is a video of Williams and Metchie explaining the origins of the now famous “Crimson Crane” celebration.
