WATCH: Has Boston’s Josh Richardson played his way to being unavailable at the 2022 NBA trade deadline?

Is J-Rich a keeper? Or part of the path to a third star?

Has Boston Celtics reserve shooting guard Josh Richardson played his way into being an indispensable part of his team’s rotation ahead of the 2022 NBA trade deadline with his recent excellent play?

Picked up as a bit of a rehabilitation project from the Dallas Mavericks in the 2021 NBA offseason, there was hope that Richardson could show some signs of his earlier excellence before a series of ill fits decreased the perceived value of his play. And to that end, the Celtics seem to have struck some gold given J-Rich is holding down the fort on both ends quite well while emerging as one of the team’s best long-distance shooters.

The hosts of the CLNS Media “Garden Report” podcast recently debated Richardson’s security ahead of the trade deadline in light of his play of late on their most recent episode and discussed the implications and potential return for dealing him.

Check out the clip embedded above to hear their take on Richardson’s current import to the Celtics.
