The Los Angeles Rams’ video department is fantastic, particularly come draft time. Each year, they produce a webseries called “Inside the Draft” in which viewers are taken behind the scenes of their preparation for the draft and during the big event.
On the second episode of this year’s edition, general manager Les Snead discusses how the Rams approach the draft and the flexibility they have after winning the Super Bowl last season. We also get a behind-the-scenes look of a Rams scouting meeting before the draft in which Snead and other personnel evaluators share their thoughts on prospects – though, no player’s names were revealed during those conversations.
Snead said that because of the Rams’ success in constructing their Super Bowl roster, they can be more strategic in targeting their needs and wants. And that’s what they did this year by focusing on the offensive line and secondary.
