Today (Monday, June 8) marks the first day that Georgia football players start their voluntary workouts in Athens.
These are not the same as regular football practice.
- All Georgia players have been tested for COVID-19 prior to the start of these voluntary workouts.
- To ensure player safety, the team has been split up into groups of 20 and then divided into workout groups of seven
- Smart and his assistant coaches are not allowed to oversee these workouts
- Strength coach Scott Sinclair will oversee the workouts
- Smart and his staff are allowed, however, to hold eight hours of virtual meetings with the players per week
The Georgia football Twitter account released a video celebrating the return of football to Athens.
Enjoy.
