Former Georgia football safety Lewis Cine took the field on Friday for the start of rookie minicamp with the Minnesota Vikings.

The Vikings drafted Cine with the No. 32 overall pick in the 2022 NFL draft.

Cine was joined by 43 others at rookie minicamp on Friday, including Minnesota’s second round pick, cornerback Andrew Booth out of Clemson.

The two rookies join a Vikings secondary that already includes two veterans in Patrick Peterson and Harrison Smith.

Here’s a short clip of the two of them warming up together on Friday.

Cine agreed to terms with his new franchise last week.

Cine signed a four-year, fully guaranteed $11,494,155 deal with the Vikings.

As Schefter points out, the NFLPA had been advocating for late first round picks to have their contract fully-guaranteed. Cine’s contract could be the first of the new norm in the NFL.

Cine was the defensive MVP of Georgia’s national championship game, and he recorded 7 of his team-leading 73 tackles in the College Football Playoff national championship. He is sure to be a standout safety at the next level as well.
