Watch: Philadelphia Eagles’ star right tackle Lane Johnson opens up to Jay Glazer about his battle with anxiety, depression

Lane Johnson is one of the toughest right tackles in the NFL and on Sunday, he displayed more courage when he sat down with Jay Glazer of Fox Sports for a one on one about his battles with depression and anxiety.

Johnson admitted that he hopped on a plane when things started to really get difficult and flew back to Oklahoma to see his mother and family, without letting the Eagles know he was leaving.

A boisterous presence on social media, the Eagles’ right tackle admitted that he paid too much attention to social media and the fan reactions following every game, win or lose.

Johnson joins a growing list of prominent athletes who have opened up about having a mental health illness over the past year.

According to the National Alliance of Mental Illness, one in five adults in the United States, roughly 47 million, are dealing with a mental illness.
