WATCH: Derek Stingley Jr. gets an interception in the end zone before the half

Derek Stingley Jr. saved Houston from giving up points before the half.

With the Houston Texans trailing 22-7 to the Cleveland Browns right before halftime, it seemed things were about to get even worse.

The Browns had the ball in the red zone but faced a third and 10 with five seconds remaining. Instead of kicking a field goal, Joe Flacco took a shot to the end zone. Unfortunately, he wasn’t counting on [autotag]Derek Stingley Jr.[/autotag]

The former LSU star snagged the ball out of the air as time expired, keeping the Texans at least somewhat alive heading into the second half.

Stingley has battled injuries during his second year in the league and has missed five total games this season, but he’s been an impact player when on the field for Houston.

The pick was the fifth of the year for Stingley, who has developed into a very nice piece on a young defense after the Texans drafted him with the third overall pick in 2022.
