The Cowboys found a gem in cornerback DaRon Bland. Drafted in the fifth round, Bland had an impressive camp and preseason performance, earning a roster spot early before moving up the depth chart in Dallas.
With Jourdan Lewis suffering a pregame injury, Bland was thrust into the starting nickel spot against the Commanders. The Cowboys defense as a whole was impressive all game and late in the fourth quarter, Bland jumped a route for his first career interception.

Bland’s first interception is Wentz’s second on the day as Dallas turns it into a quick field goal to make it a 25-10 lead. If Bland continues to perform, it’ll be hard to take him out of the nickel spot that Lewis has commanded for a few years.
