Sometimes it’s nice to know that your team’s head coach has similar reactions to the fan base.
On Friday night after 5-star OT Josh Conerly announced his commitment to the Oregon Ducks, which came as a surprise to many, the Ducks’ fan base went wild with jubilation and celebration. A new video that is circulating on social media shows that the Oregon coaching staff, with Lanning and OL coach Adrian Klemm front and center, also had a passionate celebration after the announcement as well.

Once Conerly put on the Oregon hat and committed to the Ducks, all of the coaches let it be known how big a deal it was.

For fans, a lot of the excitement was due to the fact that there didn’t seem to be a great chance Conerly would choose the Ducks, with the belief being that he would land with the USC Trojans. Looking at the coaches’ reactions, it seems as if they were finding out for the first time as Conerly announced as well.
Whether Lanning knew before the announcement on TV or not doesn’t matter. What matters is that the Ducks just got the highest-rated OL commit in program history, and you can see how much the coaching staff cares about the victory in the recruiting game.
