Sam Cosmi showing off his ridiculous strength.

Sam Cosmi entered the 2023 NFL season at a crossroads. It was his third season, and he was changing positions. After spending his college career and first two years at offensive tackle, Washington’s former coaching staff moved Cosmi to right guard.

How did it go?

Cosmi finished the season with an 82.1 grade, per Pro Football Focus. In the second half of last season, you could make the argument that Cosmi was the NFL’s best guard.

The former University of Texas standout picked a good time to have his best NFL season. Cosmi will be a free agent after the upcoming 2024 season.

While Commanders’ veterans have a little under two weeks before they report to training camp, Cosmi isn’t on vacation. He’s in the weight room, showing off his ridiculous strength.

The 6-foot-6, 309-pound Cosmi was one of Washington’s rare bright spots last season. Now, Cosmi will be counted upon to keep rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels upright in 2024. He looks up to the task.
