The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are feeling the loss of speedy CB Jamel Dean early in this game.
Dean was ruled out of the game, unable to clear the concussion protocol this week. It left Carlton Davis responsible for lining up across Kansas City Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill. That’s decidedly not a good matchup for Davis as Hill already has four catches for 133 yards and a touchdown in the first quarter.
A good chunk of those yards came on the first play of the third offensive possession for the Chiefs. Hill dusted Davis on a double move and Patrick Mahomes launched a 75-yard deep strike to Hill, combining for a little offensive magic early for Kansas City in this one.

This is now Hill’s third-straight game with over 100 receiving yards and a score. He’s playing as good as any receiver in the NFL right now and has a good case to be named the top receiver in the league. It’s not just all breakaway touchdowns either as he had a great contested catch earlier in the game.
Update: Hill’s stat line with 1:32 to go in the first quarter is 7-of-7 for 203 yards and two scores. He’s pacing for over 800 yards and 8 scores. Yes, you read that right.
