WATCH: Chiefs CB L’Jarius Sneed mic’d up for Week 14 win over Broncos

On the anniversary of his brother’s death, #Chiefs CB L’Jarius Sneed called his interception against the #Broncos and was mic’d up for it.

The Kansas City Chiefs continue to have some fortunate timing when giving their players the microphone this season.

From Travis Kelce’s four-touchdown performance in Week 5 to Carlos Dunlap’s 100th career sack, they’ve mic’d up players for some big moments. This week, they gave the microphone to third-year CB L’Jarius Sneed, who called his shot in a big moment of the game on a meaningful day for Sneed’s family.

“It’s going to be a great day,” Sneed said. “A wonderful day with my brothers.”

Sneed’s microphone picks up S Justin Reid breaking down a huddle for the defensive secondary ahead of the game. It also picks up Andy Reid getting guys hyped up on the bench ahead of kickoff.

His reaction to Patrick Mahomes’ touchdown toss to Jerick McKinnon was also a classic.

“He’s always doing his freaky old, out-of-the-world (expletive),” Sneed said of Mahomes. “15 you different, bro. You different. He’s different, man.”

After Willie Gay Jr.’s pick-six, he comes up to Sneed on the sidelines and tells him, “I joined the team, I joined the interception squad.”

With a fourth quarter lead, Sneed returned to the field with a mission.

“Just block for me, OK,” Sneed says to a confused Juan Thornhill. “Just block for me when I pick this (expletive).”

Sure enough, Chris Jones hit Broncos QB Russell Wilson, affecting his throw. The ball lands right in Sneed’s lap for an interception that would help the Chiefs ice the game. On the sideline he revealed to rookie CB Joshua Williams that Sunday marked the anniversary of his brother’s death.

“You’ve got to keep the ball, bro,” Williams said.

“I am,” Sneed confirmed.
