It’s been a simple mission for Wisconsin in the opening quarter against Eastern Michigan: run the football, then run it some more, and then maybe another run or two.
Wisconsin has run 15 plays from scrimmage and has yet to attempt a pass over halfway through the first quarter of action. The Badgers failed to convert in the red zone on their opening drive, but starting RB Chez Mellusi got the job done on Wisconsin’s second opportunity.
Mellusi is already over 100 yards on the day with 4 minutes left in the first quarter. He took it in for six to open things up for Wisconsin:
