The Israeli floor general’s solid overseas play is a solid distraction from Boston’s current woes.

While there might not have been too many bright spots in a Boston Celtics blowout loss to the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday night in Game 2 of their 2021 NBA Playoffs series, we can at least get a glimpse of a potentially brighter future in stashed Celtics point guard Yam Madar.

The 2020 NBA draft prospect has been having an excellent season overseas playing for Israeli Premier Basketball League club Hapoel Tel Aviv — so good he’s reportedly trying to get out of his contract with them. And in a game against Maccabi Zarfati Zvi Rishon Lezion, Madar continued to flash why he might just be ready to make the leap to the NBA next season.

The Beit Dagan native logged 16 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists in a 99 – 93 loss in a well-rounded if inefficient outing.
