However you feel about All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving’s exit from the Boston Celtics at the end of the 2018-19 season, his former teammates have clearly consigned whatever happened to that team to water under the bridge.
The former Celtic floor general and his one-time teammates exchanged plenty of hugs, handshakes, words, smiles and even jerseys before and after the game. On the court, it was all business — and the final score wasn’t even close with the Brooklyn Nets looking much more cohesive than the team that went to the precipice of the NBA Finals for the third time in four years last season.

And while letting go of that past won’t likely do too much for this year’s team, it’s a striking shift in footing compared to the last contending squad from Boston who still are not all speaking to one another after guard Ray Allen’s exit.

Whatever your position on the Duke product’s departure, you should at least take a look at this video to get an idea where the team you follow is on the matter.
As annoying as Irving’s word salad — or word — can be at times, he’s a legitimately good dude who is still close to the team he chose to leave.
