While the Bills had nothing on the line against the Jets in Week 17, it could be a special day for linebacker Lorenzo Alexander.
The veteran could see his NFL career come to an end after the team’s playoff run this year. He didn’t want to talk to reporters about that this week. As a Wild Card team, the Bills won’t be playing at home again.
With that in mind, the Bills and head coach Sean McDermott gave a special moment to Alexander.
As the team’s second-string players started to enter the game, McDermott called a timeout and substituted out Alexander so fans and teammates could honor him with a clap.
