The Philadelphia 76ers are making a dramatic change to their starting lineup and overall rotation by moving All-Star Ben Simmons from the point guard spot to the power forward spot. The idea is to create more spacing with having shooter Shake Milton run the point and have Simmons run things as more of a point forward option.
The idea is to utilize Simmons’ ability to run the break in transition and lead the Sixers as a team that gets out and runs more. They have the athletes to do so and they want to use Simmons’ elite speed to its fullest potential.
There is one aspect of Simmons’ game that continues to receive a lot of attention and that is his lack of a 3-point shot. He has finally made the first two 3-pointers of his career this season, but he continues to show a reluctance to take those shots in games. On Tuesday, a video of Sixers practice showed him making one from deep in a scrimmage and on Wednesday, another video was shown of him continuing to put that work in from deep.

Obviously, we have all seen this before. He showed off a willingness to shoot the ball over the offseason in 2019 and it did not translate to the floor. It will be interesting to see if he brings this to the restart in Orlando. [lawrence-related id=34726,34720,34698]
