Watch: Behind the scenes of Sean Payton’s ‘audition’ for the ‘ManningCast’

Sean Payton “auditioned” for the ManningCast this offseason. Here’s some behind-the-scenes footage from the spoof tryout.

Former Denver Broncos legend Peyton Manning and two-time Super Bowl champion Eli Manning lead the hit alternative broadcast for Monday Night Football, hosting the ManningCast on ESPN2.

The ManningCast will return for its third season this fall and, not too long ago, held “auditions” for sports figures who would like to join their show. While the audition was a spoof promo for the upcoming season, it was still entertaining nonetheless.

Peyton’s Omaha Production released behind-the-scenes footage of the auditions, featuring Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel, Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay, and … Broncos head coach Sean Payton. If I were a betting man, they had a good time.
Check out the clip below.

This was one of the best parts of the finished product:

Peyton Manning: “Important question, how do you feel about audibles?”

Sean Payton: “We generally just want the quarterback to run the play that’s called. That’s the play.”

Peyton Manning: [Visibly angry.]

Peyton and Eli are set to serve as commentators for 10 alternate broadcasts of Monday Night Football on ESPN2 this season.
