WATCH: Bears rookie WR Darnell Mooney scores first NFL touchdown

Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky found rookie WR Darnell Mooney for a 15-yard touchdown to give the Bears a 17-0 lead at halftime.

With an emphasis on getting off to a fast start, the Bears offense did just that in the first half Sunday’s game against the Giants.

The Bears scored a touchdown on their opening possession — a Mitchell Trubisky to David Montgomery 28-yard touchdown — and they ended the half with another scoring drive.

With 0:14 left in the first half, Trubisky found rookie receiver Darnell Mooney for a 15-yard touchdown in the corner of the end zone to give the Bears a 17-0 lead at halftime.

Trubisky completed 13-of-18 passes for 159 yards and two touchdowns with a 136.1 passer rating after two quarters.

Mooney, who continues to impress early, has two receptions for 31 yards and a score. He’s caught both passes thrown his way in the first half.

The Bears lead 17-0 at halftime.
