Wednesday, July 30 marked the final day in the legendary career of now-former Wisconsin athletic director and head football coach Barry Alvarez.
From turning a struggling football program into a powerhouse to bettering Badger athletics as a whole for 17 years, he now leaves massive shoes to fill for incoming AD Chris McIntosh.
I mean, where else do you step into your new job with statues of your two predecessors lining the entrance to the office—that being the case here with Barry Alvarez and Pat Richter.
In his final day as athletic director, Alvarez had a parting message for Badger fans:
"We'll see you the next time around.
"Once a Badger. Always a Badger."
