One USC Trojan who was anxiously waiting to hear his name called at the NFL draft was OL Andrew Vorhees. He was widely projected as a Day 2 pick before tearing his ACL at the NFL combine, and that injury sent him far down the draft board.
Nonetheless, Vorhees heard his name called during Day 3 of the NFL draft when the Baltimore Ravens selected him 229th overall after trading back into the draft.
It had been a long weekend for Vorhees and his family, and if he didn’t get injured at the combine, he likely would have gone somewhere between rounds 2-4.
Vorhees has a long road of recovery after the ACL injury, but once he’s back, he will block for a team that just re-signed Lamar Jackson at quarterback.
The Ravens could very well have gotten a massive steal with Vorhees, although a lot of it depends how he plays after he returns from his injury.
Vorhees was one of four USC players to be drafted. He joined fellow Trojans Jordan Addison and Mekhi Blackmon, who both were selected by the Minnesota Vikings, and Tuli Tuipulotu, who was picked by the Los Angeles Chargers.
Here’s a video of Vorhees receiving the phone call from the Ravens.

You have to be happy for Andrew Vorhees, who had an impressive career in Southern California.
