After winning his fourth NBA championship and first NBA Finals Most Valuable Player award, Golden State Warriors guard Steph Curry added another title to his already decorated resume.
On Wednesday night, Curry took the microphone as the host of the 2022 edition of the ESPY award show. While dishing out a flurry of awards, Curry controlled the night with several jokes that got the star-studded crowd laughing in Los Angeles.
Curry took a victory lap over members of the Boston Celtics in attendance, including Grant Williams. He also didn’t hold back when it came to roasting Tom Brady, LeBron James, and others. At one moment, Curry was interrupted by a live taping of Draymond Green’s podcast.
On a serious note, Curry pleaded for the United States to bring home eight-time WNBA All-Star Brittany Griner from detainment in Russia.
Along with serving awards, Curry and the Warriors earned their fair share of hardware at the ESPYs on Wednesday. Individually, Curry won Best NBA Player and Best Record-breaking Performance. Klay Thompson won Best Comeback Athlete. As a unit, the Warriors were named Best Team at the ESPYs.
