WATCH: A glimpse of Texas’ first day of spring practice

A highlight video to of the Texas Longhorns first day of spring practices.

Texas took the field for the first time under Steve Sarkisian on Tuesday. Spring practices have officially begun and will continue through the annual Orange-White scrimmage on April 24.

The major headline will be the quarterback position battle between Casey Thompson and Hudson Card, especially with Sarkisian announcing the signal-callers will split time with the starters throughout spring ball.

We got our first glimpse of the new-look team with a highlight reel from the first spring practice thanks to Texas’ Twitter account. The short clip showcases the players in just helmets with no pads, but it should still get the fans plenty excited for the upcoming season.

Sarkisian is seen addressing the team about how discipline, commitment, accountability and mental/physical toughness is an “all-the-time thing.”
