Washington Wizards at Indiana Pacers odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Saturday’s Washington Wizards at Indiana Pacers NBA odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

The Washington Wizards (31-36) drop by Bankers Life Fieldhouse Saturday for a 7 p.m. ET game with the host Indiana Pacers (31-35). Below, we analyze the Wizards-Pacers odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

Washington has alternated wins and losses over its last five games with the latest being a 131-129 overtime win over the Toronto Raptors Thursday. The Wizards are 8-1-1 against the spread in their last 10 games.

Indiana upset the Atlanta Hawks 133-126 as a 6-point home underdog Thursday but is just 2-4 straight up and against the spread across the last six games.

The Pacers were crushed 154-141 by the Wizards earlier this week and are trying to avoid the three-game season sweep by Washington.

Wizards at Pacers: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Wizards 131, Pacers 119

Money line (ML)

PASS with a slight “lean” to the Wizards (-160) since Washington’s late-game turnovers can cost them an ATS win (like in the previous game with Toronto).

Also, I’d entertain including Washington’s money line in a parlay with another similarly priced favorite for a plus-money payout.

Against the spread (ATS)

“LEAN” to the WIZARDS -3.5 (-110) for three-fourths of a unit since these teams are heading in opposite directions with Washington playing far better.

This is probably a play-in preview unless the Wizards can overtake the banged-up Charlotte Hornets for eighth in the East, but Washington has outplayed Indiana in the first two meetings and is playing better currently.

The Wizards had their way with the Pacers the other night and, aside from the obvious standouts (SG Bradley Beal and PG Russell Westbrook), PF Rui Hachimura abused Indiana’s soft interior defense.

Hachimura had 27 points on 12-for-19 shooting and there’s no reason to think that doesn’t continue Saturday because Hachimura’s mid-range game is impressive and the Pacers give up the most points in the paint per game.

Indiana also gives up the most second-chance points per game and Washington is scoring the most second-chance points per game over the last 10 games.

Over/Under (O/U)

This total (248.5) is out of my comfort zone and maybe this feeling costs me money in the long run but, in this spot, I’ll just PASS.

There’s nothing Indiana’s defense can do to stop Washington and the Wizards have gone whole weeks without playing defense so the Under is a no-go.
