Only two weeks ago, the Dallas Cowboys traveled to FedEx Field to face a red-hot Washington Football Team. The Cowboys, 8-4 at the time, were two games ahead of surging Washington. A WFT win would’ve meant a real NFC East battle was unfolding.
Unfortunately for Washington, the Cowboys jumped on the WFT early, going into halftime with a 24-0 lead. Washington fought back in the second half, but the hole was too deep, and the Cowboys left the D.C. area with a 27-20 win. The race for the NFC East was all but over.
Since that time, Washington has continued to battle injuries, in addition to close to 30 players spending time on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
For the rematch, this is about survival for Washington. As for Dallas, it has already clinched a playoff berth, but it still has plenty to play for as a win Sunday means the Cowboys officially win the NFC East with two games remaining.
