Washington RB Tybo Rogers suspended indefinitely after arrest

Sophomore running back Tybo Rogers has been suspended indefinitely after being arrested on Friday.

Washington Huskies running back Tybo Rogers was arrested on Friday and charged with both a second-degree and third-degree count of rape. Coach Jedd Fisch addressed the media after Tuesday’s practice and stated that Rogers has been suspended indefinitely.

“As soon as we found out about any allegations, we suspended him indefinitely from the program,” Fisch said.

According to court documents, the two incidents Rogers was involved in were reported on October 28 and November 23, 2023, when the team was still under the leadership of coach Kalen DeBoer.

DeBoer’s staff suspended Rogers in November and took him off the travel roster for the team’s matchup against Oregon in the Pac-12 championship, but he was reinstated and allowed to play in both the Sugar Bowl and national championship during the College Football Playoff.

Rogers took 5 carries for 19 yards against Texas in the Sugar Bowl, and 2 for 8 yards in the national championship against Michigan. He then entered the transfer portal after DeBoer’s staff departed for Alabama, but opted to withdraw and remain with Washington.

KING5 also reported that multiple emails had circulated inside the Washington athletic department about removing him from the travel roster before the team’s trip to Las Vegas before the Pac-12 championship game, but there was no documentation as to why.
