Washington LB Edefuan Ulofoshio stars at NFL combine

Washington Huskies LB Edefuan Ulofoshio starred during Thursday’s NFL Combine testing session, leading his entire position group in multiple areas.

INDIANAPOLIS- A former Washington standout has been shining at the NFL Combine. Linebacker Edefuan Ulofoshio, a six-year stalwart in the middle of the Huskies defense, opened many eyes nationally during on-field testing on Thursday afternoon.

Ulofoshio started the afternoon with a 39.5 inch vertical jump, the best among true linebackers in Indianapolis. His 10-foot 8-inch broad jump was also best among the linebackers, beating Kentucky’s Trevin Wallace out by an inch.

Once the linebackers moved to the 40-yard dash, Ulofoshio dropped a few spots down the leaderboard. His unofficial 4.56 was sixth among linebackers, just behind the 4.55 run by Temple’s Jordan Magee while North Carolina State’s Payton Wilson led the pack with a 4.44 before times were confirmed.

All three of Ulofoshio’s numbers would rank in the elite range for the position, according to Kent Lee Platte’s Relative Athletic Score. While he doesn’t have the ideal size for a linebacker, measuring at 6’0 1/2″ and 236 pounds, his numbers still elevate him to a total (unofficial) RAS of 9.39.

Ulofoshio is one of the draft’s best coverage linebackers, but injuries have clouded his draft projection. He is currently ranked as the 262nd overall player on Pro Football Focus’ Mock Draft Simulator, a number that is sure to change in his favor following his performance Thursday.
