Washington Football Team safety Deshazor Everett was the driver in a car crash on Thursday night that left a passenger in his vehicle dead. The passenger, 29-year-old Olivia S. Peters, was pronounced dead at the hospital following the one-car crash, according to a statement issued by the Loudon County Sheriff.
Everett has been for serious but non-life-threatening injuries at Reston Hospital Center.
According to the statement, the vehicle rolled over after leaving the right side of the road and crashing into several trees.
The driver of a 2010 Nissan GT-R was traveling north on Gum Spring Road near Ticonderoga Road when around 9:15 p.m. the vehicle left the right side of the roadway, struck several trees, and rolled over.
The passenger, Olivia S. Peters, 29, of Las Vegas, Nevada was taken to StoneSprings Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
The driver was taken to Reston Hospital Center where he is being treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The team has been made aware of the situation and is in contact with the NFL and local authorities. It is continuing to gather more information about the crash and will have no further comment at this time.

Everett, 29, has been with Washington since signing as an undrafted free agent in 2015. He has played 89 games in his career, making 17 starts.
