Washington Commanders activate former Alabama RB from injured reserve

The Washington Commanders activated former Alabama running back Brian Robinson Jr. from the injured reserve.

On Saturday, the Washington Commanders activated former Alabama running back Brian Robinson Jr. from the injured reserve. Robinson Jr. suffered a non-football-related injury prior to the start of his rookie season when he was shot during an attempted carjacking. As a result, he has been sidelined for the first four games of the season.

The native of Tuscaloosa, Alabama spent five seasons at Alabama before making his way to the league. He remained patient and eventually earned the starting running back role in 2021.

After displaying his skillset in his final season at Alabama, he received All-SEC First-Team honors from coaches within the conference. Robinson Jr. rushed for 1,343 yards and 14 touchdowns. He is tied at No. 10 for the most rushing touchdowns scored by an Alabama player with 29.

Now, it appears that he will be able to finally showcase his playmaking abilities at the next level. Robinson Jr. will likely have a relatively large role fairly quickly in Ron Rivera’s offense in Washington, D.C.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow Robinson Jr.’s professional career as well as other former Alabama players in the NFL.
