Warriors’ Steph Curry reacts to the passing of NBA legend Bill Russell

After the passing of Bill Russell, Steph Curry shared a post on Instagram in honor of the basketball and civil rights legend.

On Sunday, the world said goodbye to NBA and civil rights legend Bill Russell. Russell’s family announced his passing at 88 years old with a message on Twitter.

With 11 NBA championships on his decorated resume, the league honored the Boston Celtics’ great by renaming the NBA Finals Most Valuable Players award after Russell in 2009.

Following the 2022 NBA Finals, Steph Curry was the most recent player to hoist the Bill Russell NBA Finals MVP trophy. On Monday, the Golden State Warriors guard paid tribute to Russell with a post on Instagram.

With a caption that referred to the former University of San Francisco Don as a “trailblazer” and “icon,” Curry shared a photo of himself alongside Russell after the 2015 NBA Finals.
