Warriors send James Wiseman back to G League Santa Cruz

After playing with the Warriors in Wednesday’s contest against the Jazz, the former No. 2 overall pick will return back to G League Santa Cruz.

James Wiseman’s return stint to the NBA was quick.

After being recalled to the Golden State Warriors for Wednesday’s contest against the Utah Jazz, the former No. 2 overall pick is on his way back to Santa Cruz.

Following Golden State’s stunning loss in Utah, the Warriors re-assigned Wiseman back to G League Santa Cruz. Rookies Patrick Baldwin Jr. and Ryan Rollins will also join Wiseman on a return trip to G League Santa Cruz.

During Wednesday’s contest, Wiseman appeared in five minutes off the bench, tallying three points on 1-of-2 shooting from the field to go along with two rebounds against the Jazz.

Wiseman’s first run with G League Santa Cruz lasted seven games. Over that span, the Memphis product averaged 15.6 points on 62.2% shooting from the field with 10.1 rebounds in 26.9 minutes per game.

Wiseman will get the chance to go right back to work on Friday when Santa Cruz hosts the South Bay Lakers on Friday at Kaiser Permanente Arena. Santa Cruz will close the weekend with a contest against the Oklahoma City Blue.
