Warriors’ Ryan Rollins registered fourth 20-point game in G League

Rollins is averaging 19.4 points, 2.9 assists and 2.9 rebounds in eight games with Santa Cruz in the G League.

Golden State Warriors rookie Ryan Rollins put up his fourth 20-point game of the season in the NBA G League on Saturday to lead the Santa Cruz Warriors to a win over the Stockton Kings.

Rollins produced 22 points, five rebounds, four assists and one steal in the 125-114 win. He shot 7-of-13 from the field, including 3-of-7 from 3-point range, in 31 minutes of work in his eighth game on assignment with Santa Cruz.

The Warriors assigned Rollins to Santa Cruz for their two games this weekend against Stockton. He recorded 20 points on Friday and was efficient from the field in both games to lead the Warriors to a sweep of the Kings in the series.

With playing time at a premium with Golden State, the team opted to send Rollins to Santa Cruz to have the opportunity to log extended minutes. He has totaled 43 minutes of work in seven appearances with several veteran players ahead of him on the Warriors’ depth chart.

The 20-year-old has responded by averaging 19.4 points, 2.9 assists and 2.9 rebounds on 48.7% shooting from the field with Santa Cruz. He recorded a season-high 27 points on 12-of-20 shooting on Nov. 10 in a win over the OKC Blue.

Rollins will likely continue to see time in the G League in order to get more reps and game action. The team has had great success in developing players with its affiliate and will be looking to replicate that again this year.
