During the Golden State Warriors blowout loss to the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday night, the team did something no group has done in the decorated Steve Kerr era.
Following an ugly scoring drought that bleed from the first quarter to the second quarter, the Warriors tallied only 29 points in the first half resulting in the lowest scoring total for a single half with Kerr on the sidelines.
The Warriors only notched eight field goals on 39 attempts from the floor in the opening 24 minutes. Golden State went especially cold from long distance, shooting just 3-of-19 from beyond the arc in the first half.
Steph Curry led the Warriors with 12 points on 3-of-9 shooting from the field in 19 minutes. No other members of the Warriors recorded double-figures in scoring in the first half.

While the Warriors struggled to find the bottom of the net, the Mavericks poured it on. During Golden State’s nearly 10-minute scoring drought, the Mavs went on a 28-0 run, the second-longest scoring stretch in the last 20 seasons, per Elias Sports.

Golden State’s brutal drought led to a blowout loss, with the Mavericks cruising to a 133-103 victory at Chase Center. Luke Doncic led the Mavs with 39 points on 15-of-23 shooting from the floor in 28 minutes. Curry finished the contest with 27 points on 9-of-18 shooting from the field in 30 minutes.
Curry and the Warriors will have the opportunity to bounce back on Thursday against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
