The chalk: Buffalo Bills

Who they play: vs. Green Bay Packers, 8:20 p.m. (NBC)

I love QB Aaron Rodgers as a football player. I never thought I would be picking against him in a survivor pool. Yet here we are.

The Packers have been terrible this season. RB Aaron Jones and Rodgers have done their part. But the lack of receiving weapons has shown itself to be too much to overcome. Coming into Buffalo, the Packers are on a 3-game losing streak. This is a bad spot for Green Bay to try to get back on track.

Not only are the Bills coming off a bye week. They will also have CB Tre’Davious White back for this game. Just another talented player in the secondary for Green Bay to try and overcome.

The Packers have only been underdogs by more than a TD 7 times with Rodgers at QB. In those 7 games, the Packers are 0-7 straight up and 0-7 ATS. When Las Vegas thinks the Packers are going to be blown out, they are. And I expect the same here.

The Bills over the Packers is my favorite survivor play in Week 8.

Off the board: Cincinnati Bengals

Who they play: at Cleveland Browns, Monday 8:15 p.m. (ESPN)

The Browns have been on a downward spiral in recent weeks. Starting with a loss to the Atlanta Falcons and continuing last week with a divisional 23-20 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. The defense, which was thought to be a strength, has taken a step down and with Jacoby Brissett at QB the offense is struggling outside of RB Nick Chubb.

After a hard-fought 30-26 victory over the New Orleans Saints, Cincinnati returned home and blasted the Falcons 35-17 on Sunday. RB Joe Mixon had a TD and the connection of QB Joe Burrow to WR Ja’Marr Chase accounted for 2 more in the victory.

Despite losing Chase for a few weeks with a hip injury, the Bengals finally have things rolling and they will continue the roll with a victory over the Browns Monday night.
