Tennessee 2025 basketball recruiting target Shane Cherry is transferring from Austin-East High School in Knoxville, Tennessee.
The two-sport athlete is transferring to The Academy of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida.
Cherry, a two-time Class 3A Tennessee Mr. Basketball finalist, announced his decision to leave Austin-East on Friday.
Tennessee offered a scholarship to Cherry on April 21, 2023.
Cherry has scholarship offers from the Vols, Penn State, Auburn, California, Georgia Tech and Tennessee State.
He played football for Austin-East in 2023, and was named starting quarterback after the team sustained several injuries. Cherry was named Region 2-3A Offensive Player of the Year.
