The University of Tennessee men’s tennis team has been off to a fast start in its spring season.
Two Volunteers have been recognized by the Southeastern Conference.
UT junior Martim Prata was named SEC Player of the Week, while his teammate, Johannus Monday was named Freshman of the Week.
The No. 10 Vols have opened the spring portion of its schedule with five consecutive dual match wins and have a date with Notre Dame Friday at the Goodfriend Tennis center at 1 p.m. EST.
Prata has a combined 5-0 record in singles and doubles since Tennessee returned to action earlier this month.
Monday, his doubles partner, is 4-1 in singles this spring and has gone 13-3 since arriving on Rocky Top this fall.
