Vols lose to Tennessee Tech for second consecutive season

Tennessee baseball loses to Tennessee Tech for second consecutive season.

Tennessee Tech (11-24, 2-7 OVC) defeated No. 20 Tennessee (23-14, 5-10 SEC), 12-5, Tuesday at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.

The loss is Tennessee’s fourth consecutive and second straight to Tennessee Tech.

The Golden Eagles won the last meeting, 3-2, on April 12, 2022 at Smokies Stadium in Kodak, Tennessee. Both teams used wood bats in the contest.

Tennessee starting pitcher Zander Sechrist (0-1) did not record one out before leaving the game in the first inning.

The Golden Eagles led, 5-0, scoring four runs in the third inning.

Hunter Ensley hit a three-run home run for the Vols in the third inning. Ensley went 4-for-5, recording four RBIs in the contest.

Christian Scott hit an RBI single for the Vols in eighth inning.
